I've been on CyberAegis since seventh grade. Now I'm captain, Linux lead, and the person who builds the practice servers everyone else breaks.

Captain, Linux lead, MVP

CyberPatriot is the Air Force Association's national youth cyber defense competition. Teams get broken Windows and Linux machines and race to find and fix vulnerabilities. To compete nationally, I first had to earn a spot on my school's top team. So in middle school I taught myself networking and Linux, and I asked coaches, my parents, and older students to explain whatever I couldn't figure out.

At the SoCal Cyber Cup we won first place, and we've made the top five out of 200 teams three times. The finals are the fun part. You have to keep a live server running while security professionals actively attack it. The CTF rounds cover cryptography, reverse engineering, password cracking, log analysis, and web app exploitation.

Passing it on

A team is only as strong as its newest member

Our score depends on everyone, not just the strongest player. So I build practice Linux virtual machines that copy what the competition throws at us, and I run competition-style practice rounds. I've taught cybersecurity concepts to more than 120 students.

Through Del Norte's CyberCEO program, I also made three interactive presentations on internet safety and visited two elementary schools to teach them.

Also in the toolbox

USACO Silver

Reached the Silver Division of the USA Computing Olympiad in 2025 by solving algorithm problems in timed 4–5 hour Python contests. I taught myself with YouTube and the USACO Guide.

Del Norte AI Club

Co-founded in October 2024 and grew it from 8 to 20+ members. I teach machine learning basics like regression and image classification through weekly challenges, such as predicting Titanic survival and NBA games.

College math, early

Took Calculus II and III, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations at Palomar College while still in high school, and self-studied AP Calculus BC. AP Scholar with Distinction.
